A few weeks ago, I shipped a solution for a client who runs his entire business through WhatsApp. Orders, loyal customers, sales history — all scattered across conversations he could never find again.
The first version
We built a platform together: one place to centralize orders, stock, and a real overview of his business. He used it. It worked. He was happy.
The feedback that changed everything
A few weeks later, he came back to me. Not to complain — to think out loud.
"Yaji, the app is good. But I'm on WhatsApp all day. Every time I need to add a customer, log an order, or check my stock, I have to switch apps. That's an effort I don't always have."
He was right. Using a platform alongside WhatsApp takes discipline: pausing mid-conversation with a customer, opening another app, finding the right product, typing in the details, then coming back to WhatsApp to keep selling.
The question that redefined the project
When I walked him through what was planned for V2, he asked a simple question:
"What if I didn't even need to open the app anymore? What if it could all just happen here?"
That question changed everything.
What V2 becomes
The V2 I'm building now puts AI directly inside WhatsApp. A customer messages him: "Hi, I'd like 2 bags of rice and a carton of oil." The system understands the message, creates the order automatically, checks stock availability, and logs it all in the customer's history.
No dashboard to open. No app to switch to. Just the conversations he's already having, turning automatically into orders, updated stock, and clear reports.
What this means for online sellers
This case isn't isolated. Anyone running a business through WhatsApp makes the same trade-off several times a day: stay in the conversation with the customer, or leave WhatsApp to manage orders somewhere else. Every switch is friction, and every bit of friction has a cost — lost time, a misrecorded order, a customer waiting while you juggle two screens.
Designing a tool that lives inside the conversation, instead of next to it, removes that friction at the root.
